Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PublicBuild, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. The "Ship or Refund" Model

PublicBuild operates on a conditional funding model:

• Builders commit to a deadline (e.g., 7 days).
• Backers pledge funds which are held in escrow (via Stripe).
• If the Builder ships and is verified, funds are released.
• If the Builder fails to ship or the deadline is missed, funds are refunded to Backers (minus payment processing fees if applicable).

3. Verification

Project completion is verified by the community and platform administrators. We reserve the right to withhold funds if a submission is deemed incomplete, low-effort, or fraudulent.

4. Platform Fees

PublicBuild may charge a platform fee on successfully funded projects. Current fee structures are displayed during project creation.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the platform for illegal activities, scams, hate speech, or harassment. We reserve the right to ban users and cancel projects violating these rules.

6. Disclaimer

PublicBuild provides the platform "as is". We are not responsible for the quality or delivery of projects funded on the site.
